Huh? What does that mean?

At Baptist Assembly we sang a rather tedious (imo) new song (alternative version: "Scissors, paper, rock", try it...) which borrowed heavily from old hymns.  One line which stood out was borrowed from the BB favourite 'Will your anchor hold"...

will your anchor hold within the veil

Aside from mixed metaphors, just what DOES that mean?  I've sung it off and on for decades but, huh?

  • Thanks Sue... so not a ship's anchor then, more like an anchoring pin. Makes sense now - I think...

  • Yesterday's BSL daily devotion was all about the game rock, paper, scissors....
