Belated Sillyness

I am pleased for David & Smanatha Cameron that their little girl arrived safely.  The early morning news on Radio 2 announcing this fact said that they hope to give her a name "with a Cornish flavour."  The first thought that went through my mind was.... Vanilla.  Followd swiftly by 'Mivvy' 'Tiggy Oggy' or 'Pasty'.

  • Pasty I understand , but what is the meaning of the others?

I'm sure baby Cameron will in later years be very happy not only to be saddled with the name Endellion but for the whole country to know it!

  • Vanilla.... Cornish Ice-cream is vanilla
Mivvy - a kind of ice-cream lolly I assoaciate with Cornwall
Tiggy Oggy - a slang or local expression for a pasty, or so I'm told.

  • I thought that Ginster Cameron had a lovely cornish feel to it!
