  • Good Training

06 June 2011.jpgSo, today 28 of us went out hiking for the day.  There were three options to our walk roughly 6 miles, 9 miles and 12 miles.  I am now feeling quite pleased with myself to have completed the 12 mile route from Bridge of Orchy to Crianlarich along the West Highland Way.  Good training for the half marathon in September.  Good fun and good to be back out in the fresh air after such a long lay off.

  • Walking

I am mildly excited today - because tomorrow I am going out with the Churches' Walking Club for the first time since last August.  The route is partly new-to-me and partly stuff I've walked before, and with several 'opt out' points along the way will be fine if I discover I'm not as fit as I hope I am.

I will miss seeing my ABC exercise class friends, but I am really looking forward to striding out in the fresh air, with my sun hat, my factor 50 sun screen and my mozzy repellant.  Of course it might rain all day...

  • Connections

This post from Glen Marshall neatly links last weeks service on 'At Liberty Under Christ' with this week's 'Celebration of Pentecost' and my sense of the centrality of 'mission in many modes' to 'being church'.

I so love it when I manage to keep somewhere near the dance of the Spirit!

  • Blowing up the World!

Or spending time exhaling into an inflatable globe.

Ready for Sunday, I inflated my well-travelled inflatable gobe... so you see I did blow up the world.

Well it amused me.  I know, small minds, blah, blah, blah.

  • A Friday Poem

A friend just sent me this poem: 'I am the Vicar, I am'.

    Enjoy!
